We all know the Evil Empire has rotational issues. You’d think the team with one of the highest payrolls in Major League Baseball wouldn’t be auditioning oldheads for their final spot in their rotation. I don’t think it’s a terrible thing they missed out on Cliff Lee because they would have overpaid for him and then some. They have a tremendous amount of talent in the minors in Andrew Brackman, Dellin Betances, and Manny Banuelos, so spending that money was a short-term fix. Something the Yankees have screwed up on many times in the past. The decision is coming soon for the Yankees….
Phil Hughes is the 3rd starter. He has potential to be good. Clearly, the Yankees need AJB to step it up, and CC is going to be CC. Ivan Nova is the clear leader for the 4th spot in the rotation. The remaining spot will go to either Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia, or Sergio Mitre. After last night, Colon seem to be in the pole position. I think Mitre is pretty much out of the running, and may be a long reliever/spot starter if anything. Freddy Garcia’s lack of success has really put him on the back burner.
So yes, Yankees fans you’re looking at CC, AJB, Phil Hughes, Nova, and Colon. Not the greatest situation, but it could be strong. There are a lot of question marks, but also some potential. Yankees fans need to be a little patient. I saw the young fellas pitch this Spring and things are going to be very good for the Yankees in years to come.
This is the last day I’m going to complain about the NCAA Tournament I promise. Has anyone else noticed the number of dumb plays that have taken place thus far in the Tournament. I’m not talking just physical mistakes that occur from working hard. I’m talking brain-dead idiot plays that baffle me.
Clearly, the NCAA’s goal of the “student-athlete” is failing because it’s almost inexplicable for these plays to occur if the players are attending college. In many ways, the days of actual basketball is dead and it’s more about athletes, size, and raw skill.

I have to admit part of the reason for all my posts today is bitterness. Going into Saturday nigh I was feeling strong to quite strong about my chances of taking home some serious cash from my NCAA pool. Then some things started to happen. Who’s to blame… The Big East.
I didn’t have Notre Dame doing much, so I’m at peace with their loss, but Pittsburgh (lost to Butler) and Syracuse (lost to Marquette). I had Pittsburgh in the Final Four. I thought that region was a beautiful thing for them, but Butler had other plans. I love Jamie Dixon, but that may have been his worst coached game I’ve ever seen, and as for Nasir Robinson.. buy a clue dude.
I don’t know what it is about the Big East every year come tourney time. People think it’s because they beat the crap out of each other during the regular season they can’t bring it when the tourney starts. Others think it’s because their style of play isn’t conducive for non-Big East referees so they’re at a disadvantage. I have to say this, whatever it is these teams laid an egg. There is absolutely no excuse for the way some of these Big East teams lost. Notre Dame, St. John’s, Georgetown, ok you guys got your asses kicked, but the other teams. My goodness.
I really thought some of these teams would come out and do damage in the tourney, but the choke jobs are inexplicable. Louisville? I saw them play a lot this year. They should have beaten Morehead State by 20. Yeah yeah that’s what makes Tourney time so special. Special? The only thing special for the Big East this season is their education.
I hate this chick. I think she is the devil incarnate. Seriously, I’d kill myself if I had to talk to her. With that said, we have no self-respect here at Unathletic. Facially she’s kinda muffed, but it is what it is. What the fuck is that tattoo??

Every year. Every year. I was brimming with confidence this year. I had some nice swag, and although I’m not out of it, I’m pretty exasperated by some of it. I had Pitt in the Final Four, just like a lot of people. The fact of the matter is; my bracket would look sick if Nasir Robinson didn’t try to commit the dumbest foul I’ve ever seen in my life.
The NCAA Tournament is great. There are no guarantees. Sure, 1 and 2 seeds usually win, but after that it’s really up in the air. Anyone who fills out a perfect bracket they do so as a pure accident. It’s all luck. It’s just not fun when you lose to girls who don’t know squat about sports.
