We’re about two weeks into the baseball season and I can guarantee you that hundreds of thousands of people with fantasy squads are panicking right now. Why? Why are you so worried? Most people didn’t even pay to enter their leagues and most who did didn’t for over more than $100 bucks. Why do you care so much?
Eh, I know I do and it’s unavoidable. However, to make your season more enjoyable you might want to follow these rules. Rather, you might want to avoid doing the same crap you do every year…..
The Waiver Wire Game

Picking guys up for a day and dropping them really doesn’t do much, and never will. Baseball is such a long season that people get caught up scanning the wire all the time. Nothing wrong with speculative plays and picking guys up when they’re hot. But there’s a fine line between speculation and insanity. Go with your guy and remember the season is long.
Constant Staring at the Day

I can almost understand staring at your team in Football and Basketball because in these sports at least the stats tend to update every few minutes. A player could shoot a three or score a touchdown and it actually makes a difference. In baseball your batters are up maybe once every half an hour. Stats will be stats. Staring at your screen is not going to help anything. In fact it’ll just piss you off more (especially when your pitcher implodes before your eyes)
Obsessing about One Category

That’s gonna nail you ever time. What category do people always take too seriously? Saves. It happens every single year. It’s much better to kick ass in K’s, Whip, Wins, and ERA than it is to have an amazing save squad. Yet every single year people obsess about saves. Give it up.
Trading or Dropping too Early

Remember how long the season is. Don’t be a dumbass and drop one of your most coveted picks because he had a bad April. You chose that guy for a reason. You have loads of time right now. If it’s mid June and he still sucks then you have something to think about.
Taking it all too seriously

Unless your buy in was $1000 or more is this really going to change your life? We all like to have bragging rights and such but Jesus. There are times when having a bad fantasy day could ruin me and vice versa. Hell I have more satisfaction in a 5 HR, 15 RBI day than if I made a thousand dollars. That’s just not right.
