The NHL playoffs are really giving fans a run for their money. Last night you had two Game 7′s, and the night before you had two more. Four game 7′s in the first round? This can only mean things get better in the second round right? Hockey is a very vulnerable sport as it sits behind other major professional sports in popularity. However, the sport is doing it’s best to grab your attention in the 2011 Playoffs.
Going forward you have some great series that are worth watching. The Flyers and Bruins meet again after the Flyers came back down 3-0 to eliminate Boston. Detroit and San Jose square off in what should be a battle of two potential Stanley Cup Winners. Detroit looked dominant vs. Pheonix. The interesting series is Tampa Bay and Washington. Tampa is my sleeper team, and I really feel as if they can go the distance. The one series I think that won’t be a thriller will be the Canucks vs. Predators. I think the Canucks rebound and advance easy.
Right now the NHL has to be pretty happy with the way things are shaking out. Worst case scenario the Predators face the Lightning in the Finals. I think that’s safe not to happen. That’s about it though, any other combination would be a success. The NHL playoffs got off to a terrific start in the first round. Stay tuned, because it’s only going to get better.
It’s a relatively common occurrence these days that athletes make an appearance in movies. If you are any body in the sports world, you’ve made a cameo in a movie.
Some go off as a big hit, others end up being a total dud. When I say “Classic” appearances we’re talking random and awesome. Sure, there are the time old traditions like Dan Marino in Ace Ventura, Brett Favre in Something About Mary, these picks are a little off the mainstream.

This seriously makes me laugh. It’s much worse than Canseco’s. Canseco was just this clumsy lumberjack who tripped and the ball glanced off his glove. This one is just awesome.
