It’s a curious thing that whole draft night fashion statement. Some guys do it because they just don’t care and they’re cocky little assholes. Other guys go for it because they’re trying to set the trend and be different. I guess there is no satisfaction in just wearing a nice suit. The NBA is the world leader in horrible suits, but the NFL has had several terrible suits as well. It’ll be interesting to see this week, who goes for that “fashion statement”
So now that we’ve established these draft picks feel the need to stand out with their fashion, which guys went for it and epically failed? There are quite a few of them, but here are five that stick out in the NBA and NFL.

Weaver flew under the radar in the second half of last year where he was absolutely dominant. The guy’s K/9 is terrific. He’s just getting it done. We all know this isn’t sustainable and he’ll hit a rough patch, but a hell of a start for Jered.

I’ll say this once, as it becomes a fixture every Tuesday here at Unathletic. It’s absolutely amazing that every week I will be able to post two lawbreaking, sports-related stories with ease. It’s a shame, but can provide some entertainment.. just saying….
(1) Michi Nogami-Marshall – The wife of the stabbing victim Brandon Marshall. Best part of the story.. Brandon told authorities he fell on a vase. Repeat.. fell on a vase. His wife claimed it was in self-defense. Either way she is being charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
(2) Jamal Coombs-McDaniel – The reigning champions UCONN Huskies got some crappy news as JCM was arrested for possession of marijuana and other fun goodies used for getting high in a dorm room during UCONN’s Spring party. JCM played 6 minutes in the championship game and grabbed two rebounds.
Verdict: Close one, but we gotta give it to Marshall’s wife. Brandon Marshall is a really big deuche bag, but I guess getting stabbed is no joke, and I’ll bet every college basketball player is getting high minus BYU’s squad.
What is this move! Fuck him up! You know he was talking shit, and hell you’re already up there. I hate this thing! The guy gets up there and decides to negotiate, this is some bullshit!

I came across an interesting article about “rogue scout” Dave Razzano and his assessment on certain draft prospects in this years NFL draft. First and foremost, no need for the “rogue scout” label. He’s not an outlaw, and because he makes honest assessments of players and blogs on his own now after working in the NFL doesn’t mean he’s badass. However, I have found some of this thoughts interesting…
(1) He absolutely crapped on Blaine Gabbert, and the thought that someone is going to draft him in the Top 10. His exact thoughts were, “whoever drafts him is just guessing”
(2) He wasn’t thrilled with Cam Newton either saing he has multiple red flags and you CANNOT take a guy number 1 like that.
(3) He loved Jake Locker. He basically said he was the second coming of Brett Favre.
(4) He also had some sleeper calls that included Colin Kaepernick of Nevada and Hawaii’s Greg Salas.
It’s an interesting article and worth a read with the draft coming up this week.

I have to maintain my same position on this stuff as always. All coaches are doing something, Tressel just got caught. Look at all the issues and guys starting to get caught… Why do you think Pete Carroll bailed on USC? College Football coaches, and College Basketball coaches are all up to something believe it.

It’s still early in the season, but maybe your pitching staff needs a little shot in the arm. This week it’s between Phil Coke of the Tigers and Josh Tomlin of the Indians.
Why Coke? Well, he’s been pretty good this season and he’s pitching against the hapless Mariners at home. He had a rough go about it last time vs. Seattle, but I think he rights the ship this time. I expect good ERA, WHIP, and a W. Don’t count on the K’s.
Why Tomlin? Should we buy into Tomlin completely? What more does the guy have to do to start the season? He dominated KC last time out, and he’s got them again this week. He’s yet to lay an egg this season and there’s no reason for that to start now. Same thing applies, ERA, WHIP, and a W. Might be worth holding.
Verdict: Tomlin, under 25% owned in most leagues
