New York Mets’ principle owner Fred Wilpon must have had a bad day because he decided to take a dump on players on his team. Not the chump players either, Mr. Wilpon singled out his premiere players. The comments by the Mets’ owner are hilarious…..
On Reyes
“He thinks he’s going to get Carl Crawford money,” Wilpon said, referring to Crawford’s seven-year, $142 million contract with the Boston Red Sox. “He’s had everything wrong with him. He won’t get it.”
On Beltran
“We had some schmuck in New York who paid him based on that one series. He’s 65 to 70 percent of what he was.”
On D. Wright
“Really good kid. A very good player. Not a superstar.”
Here’s all I can say about this… Is he wrong? Perhaps, he didn’t want to come out and say it, but is he wrong? If I was him I’d be frustrated as hell with that team too. Not to mention, none of the guys mentioned above expect for maybe Wright are likeable.
