We’ve got an interesting Showdown this week. In light of Jim Tressel’s resignation we decided to juxtapose the master and the apprentice. The student and the teacher. The Jedi and the pupil. You get what I am saying…. Both guys committed wrongdoing, who gets the honor of being the criminal of the week.
Terrell Pryor – You know the story. T-Pain was the most prominent figure in selling goods for tattoos. Selling off memorabilia that he could have kept for life to remind him of his time at Ohio State for another tattoo. Like he needed a tattoo that bad. You can bet Pryor knew he was doing something wrong. You can also bet that he didn’t care. Pryor moves on with his life.. .or does he… he’s currently under serious investigation…
Jim Tressel – Well Coach Tressel has resigned. He really screwed up. He lied, and made it worse by trying to cover it up. He failed to uphold his duty as an NCAA football coach, and made it worse by trying to cover it up. Now he will most likely never coach college football again. His players ran a muck, he knew about it, and did nothing. Shame shame.
Verdict – Knee jerk reaction here says go with Tressel. He’s older, he’s a coach, he knows what’s right and wrong. I’m going another way folks. I think Terrell Pryor is bad news bears. This kid is a scumbag, and we’ve only touched the surface of his bullsh%t. On all accounts, I hear Tressel is a good guy who just fudged up. I’ll buy it. He should have never have lied. He screwed up, and made it worse by trying to cover it up. He’s certainly in the wrong, but believe me when I tell you there are coaches in the country today covering up a lot worse. Coaching these f%ck ups today must be excruciating. You’re getting a pass today Jimmy.
