Bartolo Colon pitched a complete game shutout yesterday vs. the Oakland Athletics. The 38-year old, heavy set pitcher, who has not been able to hold a job in MLB is consistently hitting 95 on the radar, and now he’s throwing 8 innings here, 9 innings there. It just doesn’t seem right for a guy who was out of baseball a year ago, and if it wasn’t for a Spring Training invite he’d be bagging groceries somewhere.
I’m trying to put this in perspective because it is the A’s, but still. There is this looming issue with stem cells and Colon that I feel as if is going to eventually blow up. Colon had stem cells injected in his arm (his own stem cells) to heal lingering shoulder injuries. Whether or not this can be considered similar performance enhancing drugs is to be determined. MLB is curious. My feeling is this will become outlawed.
Stem-celled up Bartolo Colon looks like the Colon of 5 years ago. Unfortunately, it’s not genuine, and it’s going to get messy in the future.

This sounds a lot like blood doping, the practice that the old Finnish runner Lassie Verin used to use in the Olympics half a century ago. It was outlawed around 1960 or so.

and I bet the author is a Yankee hater. I don’t see what the big deal is, honestly. Find something more interesting to write about and don’t be a hater.
