I have mixed feelings about this new trend. First, lets be clear about something…. I have nothing but the utmost respect for our Nation’s soldiers, who risk their lives to defend our country. Second, I know it’s all fun and games, but I’m not really feeling the whole Youtube date with a celebrity thing. There’s just something that irks me about it. I believe that the men and women overseas absolutely deserve something special that ordinary citizens don’t deserve, but getting celebrity dates via Youtube seems to take away something from the service.

Eh, but then again it is all just for fun. I get that the men and women in the armed forces did not sign up to defend this nation to get a date with Hope Solo. I love how it puts the celebrity in an awkward position. If they say “no” they look like insensitive a$$holes. My feeling is this is going to spread like wild fire. First, Kunis then Solo…. I’m thinking the next guy should go for a sure thing like Jenna Haze or Kim Kardashian. Coming soon to Unathletic my marriage proposal to Alex Morgan of the US Women’s Team.
