The NFL labor dispute seems to be a done deal, so we’re going to get some football this year friends. It’s like a warm blanket knowing I’ll have my favorite time of year; the Fall. College and NFL football, and postseason Baseball. Feels good. So with that said, you are going to see a frantic few weeks when NFL operations resume.

The free agent market isn’t terrific this year, but there are some key players that will certainly help your team. Unathletic has examined the market, dissected the players, and really looked at which teams will be major players. I don’t expect heavy fireworks, but there could be difference makers.

Take a look….

5.  Plaxico Burress – WR – Oneida Correctional Facility

To be honest with you, I think Plaxico Burress could be a steal for some team. I know he’s been in jail, but other than that what has happened? He’ll be older, but fresh. The guy is a stud receiver, and you can be sure he’s going to be as focused as they come. I think Plax will end up with the Jets to be honest with you. They like the misfits. I secretly want him to go to the Colts.

4. Lamarr Woodley – LB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Lamarr Woodley is a top priority free agent because he’s in a very shallow position. I’ll spare you the suspense with this one. This dude is going to end up with the same team he was on last year. Duh.

3. Sidney Rice – WR – Minnesota Vikings

I like Sidney Rice. If he’s healthy he’s going to make a team significantly better. The problem is he’s had trouble staying healthy. His 2009 stats were exceptional. I would think the Chargers are going to go hard for him. Watch out for a sleeper like the Chargers, Eagles, or Bears.

2. DeAngelo Williams – RB – Carolina Panthers

Here’s another guy that needs to stay healthy. If Williams is healthy he’s an elite back in the NFL. There aren’t many teams with elite backs in the NFL, you get what I’m saying. My gut says he may be back in Carolina, but the Colts will make a bid, and I also think the Patriots could sweep in like they usually do.

1. Nnamdi Asomugha – CB – Oakland Raiders

I don’t know what to make of his season last year. First, it sucked. Second, I do still believe he is one of the top corners in the league and a change of scenery could help his cause. Where will he go.. Well I think he’s getting the f out of dodge so I’d look at the Dolphins, Saints and Ravens. The Ravens love their defense.
