There are plenty of songs out there that are about sports.�� There are songs that are about specific players or even events.�� But that’s not what I’m referring to in this article.

Here I want to talk about songs that make you think of a certain sport.� Whether it takes you back to a movie, or a certain point in time, for whatever reason they elicit a thought that makes you think of a sport.

These particular songs make me think about baseball…..

Centerfield – John Fogerty

I mean come on.� The song is called Centerfield.�� Still though, whenever this thing is on the radio it’s impossible not to think about the ball park or some scene in a movie that’s about baseball.

I Love LA – Randy Newman

I can’t help but to think of The Naked Gun every single time I hear this song.�� And I’m pretty sure anyone who’s seen that movie will be thinking of the same thing.

We Will Rock You

It was a debate between this song and “We are the Champions” but they’re always played together so whatever.�� I know this song is more universal for sports in general but I still think of baseball playoff moments.

Star Spangled Banner

This one’s obvious but had to be included.

God Bless America

This one always makes me think of Yankee Stadium since they play the Kate Smith version every single game.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Obviously.

This was actually the soundtrack to my Bar Mitzvah video which in hindsight is extremely lame.�� Great song though.

“Tequila”

Sure we might think of Pee Wee Herman but I always think of The Sandlot and kids playing baseball when I hear this song.
