Most guys that play professional sports are good at other sports.†† Personally I think it’s guys that play hoops and football that are generally the most versatile athletes and can excel in numerous sports.
If there’s one sport that’s universally challenging and funny to watch professional athletes play, it’s golf.†† Everyone has a tough time with golf.† But today I decided to mention 10 players in the NFL who seem to have picked up the game quite nicely.
Check out the list after the jump…..
Even though I hate Romo you gotta respect his athleticism.† Dude has a 0, yes 0 handicap in golf.†† Apparently he hits the ball a ton but his weakness is that he doesn’t have enough time to play.
Podlesh is another scratch golfer though punters in football have historically kicked ass at golf.† They have nothing better to do.†† Podlesh says he needs work with his irons but a 0 handicap ain’t bad.
Hey, another kicker!†† Longwell nearly makes scratch status with a .4 handicap.
It’s pretty awesome when a guy who is 6’6, 265 lbs and snaps a ball for a living has a 1 handicap.† That’s the case for the Ravens long snapper.†† Guy obviously hits the ball a mile.
A defensive lineman with a 0 handicap.†† Not bad.† Not bad at all.
Tiki’s twin brother knows his way around the green.† He’s sporting a 3.3 handicap.† His strength is his short game and weakness is fairways in regulation.
Hunter’s got a 3.8 handicap.
Cooley complains that he can’t hit greens but that his short game is his best element to his game.† Cooley sports a 6 handicap.
A little gruff running back has got the skills on the golf course.† Woodhead is a 7.9 handicap out there.† He says he gets easily frustrated but that he’s really good at recovery shots.
I just can’t see Urlacher being a good golfer.† He seems more like the drunk rowdy type.†† Urlacher sports an 8 handicap which is a hell of a lot better than my ass.
