Earlier this month the Hyatt Regency in downtown Tampa was home to the 3rd annual Pro and Pro Alumni cheer and dance convention. T he show was the presentation of Cheer Girl Entertainment, an impressive company providing a variety of services to the cheerleading/dance community.
So what goes on at these things you might ask? Oh, only like the most awesome cheering spectacle you can imagine. This year they threw on a little Cheerleading Boot Camp and there was some former Magic Dancer with a Mohawk. Oh yeah. No joke.
It’s a fun time for the ladies and certainly for us dude who gawk at the pictures, which we have after the jump….

I hate DeSean Jackson. I think he’s the biggest punk, but this kid is funny. He’s certainly going to grow up to be a DeSean Jackson like cocky little a$$hole, but in Pee Wee’s it’s kind of funny. One of these times he’s going to get rocked though. Hopefully, we have a video for that.
I know nothing about Ian Kinsler’s personal life. If you were to ask me, I would have said the guy is burning the candle on both ends just crushing chicks. Not so. He’s a happily married man, that has no issue with breaking young ladies hearts all around the country by kissing his wife on the field after winning the ALCS.
On to his wife Tess… She’s kind of a babe. Here’s a funny story. When Ian lost the SS gig at Arizona State University, he transferred to the University of Missouri. The most popular theory as to why he chose Missouri suggests that he chose the midwest because his future bride, and current girlfriend Tess was enrolled in school there.
Usually when you’re not excited to see the World Series it’s because a team you’ve been rooting for isn’t in it. I’m a Yankees fan so I’ll admit that I pretty much lost interest after the bombers lost to the Tigers in the ALDS.
But seriously, outside of Texas and St. Louis is there going to be anyone who really cares about watching this thing? OK, I’ll give a few reasons why it might be interesting to see this thing.
1. I’m very curious to see if Nelson Cruz can keep this up. The dude has been All-World these playoffs.
2. It’d be kind of cool to see Ron Washington win it all after just a few seasons as head coach.
3. Chris Carpenter will more than likely bean someone in the head
4. Pujols has to have some kind of a big hit that will be exciting to watch
5. Wardrobe Malfunctions?
There, that’s the best I could think of. Pretty sad if you ask me. Anyway, Game 1 is tomorrow and I couldn’t care less.
If chicks do indeed dig the long ball, well then Nellie Cruz was probably busy this past week. Your ALCS MVP decided to get red hot against the Tigers, and connect for 6 HRs total in the series. The stats don’t lie Cruz hit .364, 6 Bombs, and 13 RBIs. All of his 8 hits went for extra bases.
Behind Cruz’s efforts, the Rangers are headed to the World Series to face the St. Louis Cardinals. (yawn) Game 1 will take place in St. Louis and feature aces Chris Carpenter vs. CJ Wilson. Will Nellie continue his hot hitting? The few that tune into the World Series will find out. (yawn)
Cruz is an interesting case. He’s 31-years old. Technically, he’s had 7 years of big league service. His first four years he played a grand total of 176 games and hit 22 home runs in those games. He just hit 6 home runs in 6 games. After those first four years suddenly, miraculously, whatever you’d like to call it the guy hit 33, 22, and 29 home runs the past three years. That coupled with his propensity to strain muscles…. you get where I’m going with this. Anyway, helluva week for Cruz, I’m sure it was a product of hard work:)
It appears Cam Newton has settled into his new job, and now he’s looking to start a family. Well, that’s not exactly how it goes in professional sports, but it was worth a shot. Would you expect anything less from Cam? He’s Hollywood man, and because of that a WAG like Ciara is a must. This gives him a hot chick and some street cred.
News is breaking all over about the Carolina Quarterback and Ciara getting cozy. Of course, you know what this means; we’re going to be seeing Ciara in a luxury suite with a Newton jersey on pretty soon. Boy, am I excited. Don’t get your hopes up though, Ciara is a notorious dater and has been around the block. A couple more athletes, and she’ll be in jersey-chaser status.
