The NCAA is never going to change. We’re talking about one of the biggest monopolies in all of America. I’d be curious to see what happens to the NCAA in the next 10 years. The fact of the matter is; we could be having this same discussion. It’s not like any of us are going to stop watching college sports so, oh well.

The Asian prank shows are something else man. The best one of all-time was the ghosts scaring that dude. They really get after it on these shows. Who the hell thinks it’s a good idea to put a little girl in the room with an “alleged criminal”. Ironically, the little boy is loving it. Shows are sweet man

We got us a fun weekend of football ahead of us. Just sit back and relax. Also, our first week of the NBA is nearly complete. It’s been a ride thus far and it’ll be interesting to see who can mess with the Heat this year. Not sure many can. These guys look pretty pissed off.
Anyway, there were plenty of pictures that made news but here are five we hold dear in our hearts….
When Tiger Woods blows out 36 candles on his birthday cake today, he will be exactly where Nicklaus was when he turned 36 — at 14 majors. Nicklaus won his 15th at 38 in the 1978 Open Championship and added three more in his 40s — the 1980 U.S. Open and PGA Championship and the 1986 Masters.
I think Tiger is back. The President’s Cup was exactly what he needed. I think he’s going to break the record. You?
For the final day of our 2011 face-offs we decided to pick two historic moments in sports. When you watch these moments it’s hard not to get the chills. Obviously, there were a ton of great sports moments in 2011, but these are the two we picked.
In one corner, we have Mr. 3,000. Derek Jeter got his 3,000th hit in 2011. It was just another amazing moment in an amazing career for the Yankees’ Captain. Jeter, of course, did it in historic fashion with a home run of Tampa Rays’ lefty David Price. Jeter became the 28th player to record 3,000 hits and the second to do it with a home run.

U.S. adults would most like to be neighbors with Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, whose unshakable attitude and consistent displays of faith during games (a.k.a. “Tebowing”) has bolstered much media attention during the last year. The survey showed the 24-year-old athlete’s popularity was significantly higher among males (14 percent) compared to females (7 percent). Celebrity super couples Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux received 10 percent and 9 percent of the vote, respectively.
This is one of the few times here at Unathletic where I’m in total support of something. I’m not a huge Tebow fan, and I think some of his ‘stuff’ is a little over the top. HOWEVER, if I was choosing a celebrity neighbor this guy might be perfect if I, in fact, had to choose a male. (I can think of about 300 female celebrities I would choose before Tebow) Think about it – no parties, no sex, no entourage, the list could go on forever. Tebow’s the type of guy that would take your trash out for you. Tebow’s the type of guy that would share lawn and gardening tips with you. You could easily let him watch your kids for a weekend without any concern they’d be exposed to nudity or drugs. See what I’m saying? This guy is ideal.

As you may or may not know the training regimen to be a dancer/cheerleader in the NBA is not easy. First there are tryouts which can be extremely grueling. And if you’re lucky enough to make the team it doesn’t stop there.
This is a year long job and it requires plenty of traveling and appearances. So to prepare for the season, each squad usually goes through a “boot camp” of sorts.
Here are some pictures of the Knicks City Dancers boot camp….
