While he and his New England Patriots were in Washington, D.C. over last weekend defeating the Redskins, punter Zoltan Mesko got to meet his “childhood hero” in Gheorghe Muresan, the 7-7 former center who is the tallest man to ever play in the NBA. Like Mesko, Muresan was born in Romania and came to the U.S. to play professional sports, suiting up for the Washington Bullets and New Jersey Nets from 1993-2000.
Reminding us all how tall 7-7 actually is, Mesko, who is listed at 6-5 on the Patriots’ website, tweeted a photo he took with Muresan, and he still only reaches Muresan’s shoulder blade. Just a couple of minutes later, Mesko posted another photo with the two of them and Mesko’s Patriots teammate running back Danny Woodhead, who stands at 5-8, and even that may be stretching it a bit.
Danny Woodhead looks like a little rat! Picture is awesome though. Don’t you get the feeling Gheorghe Muresan could make any picture better.
