I know what everyone is saying, “It’s only the first weekend, blah blah blah” Well, these games count too my friends. If you watched around the league thus far there are some things that appear to be issues that may or may not go away this year…
When I say issues – it could be anything from ability to score runs to bullpen to starting pitching to people not liking new stadiums – the list goes on and on. Remember, I’m putting a disclaimer on this; I realize it’s only been the first weekend so there’s no need to lose sleep. However, if I was one of you guys I’d be slightly alarmed.
Hit the jump to see the issues…
5.) Nobody Likes The Marlins New Stadium:(
I wonder how many teams are going to make negative comments about the Marlins new stadium. I kinda like it – does that make me gay? The Cardinals were first – and you know every journalist is going to ask visiting players about it. Should be interesting – and very annoying.
4.) The Twins Suck
Let’s remember that a junior high team beat the Orioles in Spring Training. No matter how you slice it, I’m not feeling the Twins this year. I’m not feeling the pitching – it’s only a matter of time before Mauer and Morneau get hurt and after that you’ve got nothing. P.S. The bullpen sucks too.
3.) The Illusion That the Yankees Improved Their Pitching
People thing Brian Cashman is the greatest GM that ever-lived.. Dude, you do the same thing every year. You wave a magic wand and make people believe the pitching is “post-season caliber” and it’s not. Look at the runs a crappy Tampa Bay offense scored against them. It’s just not good.
2.) Teams With No Hope:(
This is sad – The Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, and Houston Astros had no hope from the jump. There’s no – new year, new opportunity. It’s just sad. And the Padres and Astros play in crappy divisions. At least Yoenis Cespedes is raking.
1.) The Red Sox Bullpen/Bobby Valentine
This is a freakin’ mess – I wonder if Bobby V is going to get fired mid-season. Unthinkable. Poor Ben Cherington. He’s in for a rough first year. That bullpen is God-awful. God-awful. How long will this team stick with their fearless (moronic) leader.
