The Major League Baseball season is very long, thus you have plenty of opportunity to right the ship if your fantasy team got off to a crappy start. The problem is it’s challenging to find mid-season gold when you’re in a league with dudes who sit on the waiver wire day and night.
With that said, it’s important to stay ahead of the game. We’re here to help. We will identify a few names that you want to put on your radar right now, prepare to grab, and then see if you can make a run in the second half…
Let’s just hope the rest of your league doesn’t see this e-mail….
5.) Chase Utley – 2B – Philadelphia Phillies
I’ll throw Utley out there first because he’s the lead picture so you know he’s going to be on this list. All signs are pointing towards stronger knees and a healthy Utley come June. This could be huge for you as he is sitting on waivers in your league right now. He says he feels good. We could be looking at 5 categories of help here my friends.
4.) Grady Sizemore – OF – Cleveland Indians
I get seduced by this guy all the time. Once again, Grady is on the road back to the big leagues. He’s projected to return in June, and you just never know. The guy has a sh$tload of talent and could help your team. I’ll get seduced by him every year – one of these times I’ll be rewarded.
3.) Roy Oswalt – NA
He’s staying in shape, he’s planning on joining a contender – he could help you. I’m not sure in what capacity, but if he joins a winning team he may be very serviceable for half a year. Be ready to pounce…
2.) Trevor Bauer – SP – Arizona Diamondbacks
I am straight giddy over this kid.. I have him stashed on my roster right now. My hope is the Diamondbacks buy a clue and pull him up in June. If you can afford to do it just grab him… In Double A so far this year… 1.96 ERA, 51 K’s in 41 innings, a nice 1.03 WHIP (He’s got control problems what can you do!)
1.) Dylan Bundy – SP – Baltimore Orioles
Bundy really has no shot at reaching the Majors this year, but I have no choice to put him on this list. The guy is the best pitcher in minor league baseball. He gave up his first run last week! Wow.. up until that point… 2 hits in 20 innings.. 2 hits…to go along with 33 K’s. The Orioles are just starting to stretch him out now.. maybe, just maybe… well no, but the kid is going to be a stud.
