I really can’t wait to hear the backlash from fans on this one. First, I know it will come from the fans of the particular team of each identified athletes. That throws their argument right out of the window. Second, I don’t really think “they’re just kids” defense works. How many “kids” have come along in the history of professional sports that we liked.. Enough said.
Today, we’re going to highlight 5 Athletes Who Are Flat Out Unlikeable. Don’t get confused – I think these guys have a TON of talent. A ton. For that I give them a lot of respect. Other than that – there is not much to get excited about.
Hit the jump to see the 5….
5.) Cam Newton – QB – Carolina Panthers
I’m a hypocrite because I rode Cam Newton to financial gain through Fantasy Football. However, I can’t stand the guy as a person. My particular favorite was when the rookie quarterback called out the rest of his team for not playing well. Class move bro – Take some notes from Drew Brees and Peyton Manning before you anoint yourself God.
4.) Andrew Bynum – C – Los Angeles Lakers
At 25, it’s hard to call Bynum “young” but that’s what he is. Surprisingly Bynum has been in the league for 7 years. 7 years. That’s incredible. Over those 7 years he hasn’t learned a damn thing. He still makes idiotic comments, and still plays by his rules. Fortunately, he has LA and Kobe Bryant to overshadow his nonsense.
3.) Brett Lawrie – 3B – Toronto Blue Jays
A picture says a thousand words…… My suspicions about Lawrie were confirmed last week when he went apesh#t on an umpire. Another kid with A TON, A TON of talent, but you can see he’s not the brightest bulb in the box. It’s only a matter of time before someone is posting his bail. He’s like a Josh Hamilton/Ben Roethlisberger Jr.
2.) DeSean Jackson – WR – Philadelphia Eagles
See kids.. This is what happens when you’re a d-bag. Your career starts to pay for it. That’s exactly what happened to this a$$hole last year. He wasn’t anything special, but that didn’t stop him from b$tching and moaning. Definition of punk.
1.) Bryce Harper – OF – Washington Nationals
I just want to make sure that people understand – Cole Hamels didn’t throw at Bryce Harper because he was trying to “revert back to the old days”. Cole Hamels threw at Bryce Harper because he thinks he’s a cocky, little a$$hole who needs to be put in his place. A feeling that is shared by most in the baseball world.
