Robin van Persie is headed to Old Trafford in a deal that will shake up the 2012/2013 EPL Season for sure. There he’ll be United with Wayne Rooney….. Between them last season, Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney scored 57 league goals and created 13 more for their teammates. They were first and second respectively in the Barclays Premier League top scorers’ chart, playing at the peak of their powers.
Does this mean the United will reclaim the title from City? Tough call. Today, a day before the EPL Season kicks off, we’re going to lay out our predictions for the upcoming season.

The EPL’s Top Scorer
If you already bet on Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie, the news of the transfer didn’t help your cause. United is going to score goals, but there are more people to share the wealth. Because of this – I’m going with Sergio Aguero. He tallied 23 last year, finished with the what could be called the greatest goal in EPL history, and he’ll continue the magic into this season. The only problem could be Balotelli and co. poaching his chances…..
Sleeper Pick: Lucas Podolski – Van Persie gone, it’s Podolski’s show at Arsenal.
The EPL’s Manager of the Year
A lot of people are discussing Chelsea as a surprise winner this season. While I don’t think they’ll win, I do think they’ll be a threat for 3/4 of the season. They’ll play well enough to give Roberto Di Matteo the award for Manager of the Year in the English Premier League. Chelsea is going to be an interesting team to watch this year.
Sleeper Pick: Alan Pardew – Newcastle United – Two years in a row is a tough call, but I love what Newcastle did last year and can seem them having another strong campaign.
The EPL’s Golden Glove
Boring. Boring. It is what it is.. Joe Hart won the award last year, and he’ll win it again this year. He’s the best goalie in the Premier League. Period.
Sleeper Pick: Peter Cech – Chelsea – Cech gets the nod here because we’re on that Chelsea kick.
2012/2013 EPL Title Winner
I want to pick another team… City or United. Take your pick. It’s really not that complicated. It kind of makes it less exciting… Here’s how I’ll go top 5…
1.) Manchester United
3.) Manchester City
5.) Newcastle United
