Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is in on college football’s opening weekend. In case you missed it, Floyd was first going to put a healthy $3 million on Michigan +14 vs. defending National Champion Alabama. Then, he flip-flopped and went with the Tide.
The rule of thumb is always go with your gut instinct. This has back door, butt-sore cover written all over it – we’re going with ‘Money’ Mayweather’s first pick. I actually like the big number for Michigan anyway, but I’m flat out playing the man here. Why? Because I hate the guy, and because I hate the guy he’ll probably win, but like I said – always go with your first instinct.
First pick Michigan +14 vs. Alabama at 8 PM on Saturday night. Hit the jump to see the other two picks…
I’m going with the best team in the country in their opener to cover a big number. There’s a statistic out there that 40 point spreads are covered over 60% of the time. That’s not what I’m concerned with. I’m more concerned with the fact that Hawaii lost a ton of guys on defense and will be playing under a new style of offense. That is a recipe for disaster. The only worry is it’s Norm Chow leading Hawaii and USC may not want to run it up, but Lane Kiffin is a d-bag and his second unit is better than Hawaii’s first. Take the biggie.. The halftime score is going to be 35-3.
