Today’s morning post is going to highlight some awesome live events we here at Unathletic have been to. We want to know about your favorites?
I post this this morning because I am hell-bent on attended the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. I have firmly planted this on my to-do list and will need to begin making plans sooner rather than later. I mention this because I have little doubt that this is going to be the greatest live event I’ve ever been to in my life…
Until now, what tops the list? Hit the jump to see and give us yours……..
5.) Beastie Boys Concert
I went to a Beastie Boys concert in high school and it totally changed the game. It was unreal. The Beastie Boys just killed it and I remember thinking this show was never going to be topped ever…. RIP MCA
4.) New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils Game 6, 1994 Playoffs
Every now and then you get lucky and get tickets to a landmark playoff sporting event. I, as a young lad, went to this playoff game between the Rangers and Devils on the heels of the guarantee of guarantees. Mark Messier set the tone for guarantees. I can remember the atmosphere at this game like it was yesterday. Electric.
3.) Linkin Park Concert
By far the greatest show I’ve ever seen. Linkin Park is incredible life. While I’d love to have five sporting events on this list, I am very happy I have two concerts. Even if you “kind of” like Linkin Park, I highly suggest you see them live. They’re unreal.
2.) NCAA Tournament
When I was in college a buddy scored awesome tickets to the NCAA tournament. He found an alumni of a participating college who posted his seats on E-Bay. We went aggressively after them, and landed courtside seats for the tournament. Awesome atmosphere, awesome experience.
1.) New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox Game 7, 2003 ALCS
The pinnacle of my live event existence was being at this game. I really don’t know how to describe it. It’s like having sex on ecstasy (not that I’ve ever done it). Sex after is still great, but it’ll never be as good. Well, I’ve been to numerous playoff games since 2003 and nothing has come close. The stadium was electric that night.
