Indiana played like the top-ranked team in the nation Tuesday, as the Hoosiers manhandled the No. 14 North Carolina Tar Heels, 83-59, in front of a frenzied Assembly Hall crowd.
Nik Stauskas scored a game-high 20 points as No. 3 Michigan downed No. 18 North Carolina State, 79-72, in an ACC/Big Ten Challenge tilt at Crisler Center.
The 21st-ranked Gophers were playing their fourth game in six days, but showed no signs of being the least bit weary. They bolted to an early double-digit lead that they held for most of the game on the way to a 77-68 win over defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Florida State in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
In other games, Northwestern lost to Maryland, Nebraska beat Wake Forest, and Iowa fell to Virginia Tech. That’s 4-2 for the Big Ten with all the important games in their favor. Looks like the tables have turned, Mr. Powers.
