The Kansas City Chiefs made a big push for Andy Reid, and now it appears they will land their guy. Reid’s camp was planning to notify the Arizona Cardinals and San Diego Chargers Thursday afternoon he will not be meeting with them because he was closing in on a deal with the Chiefs, according to a person informed of the progress of negotiations between the former Philadelphia Eagles coach and the team. The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because talks were ongoing, said Reid was loosely planning to interview with Arizona on Friday and San Diego on Saturday but that the meeting with the Chiefs Wednesday night went so well it’s become clear that’s where Reid is likely to land. The person said there is no deal as of now, but it’s likely to be finalized shortly.

No coach needed a new start more than Andy Reid. Here’s the thing; Reid was given full power to make personnel decisions in Philadelphia and failed miserably. He’s also had a track record of drafting HORRIBLY. With the number one pick in this upcoming draft, Reid will be poised to make a horrible decision here. I think the Chiefs will regret this hire if it goes through. Reid isn’t a guy you rebuild with. Poor Jamaal Charles, Andy Reid loves to throw the ball and Charles is BY FAR the best player on the Chiefs offense.
