I guess if it weren’t for perverted dudes out there I wouldn’t even get to post pictures like this but I don’t know where you draw the line.  The guy who took these pictures calls himself “Monica’s Dad.”  I’m pretty sure he might be the father of one of the Cal Cheerleaders.  And when you look at his Flickr account it’s all pictures of cheerleaders.

But the kinds of pictures that you know, we like, not that a dad should be posting online.  I supposed I’ll let all that go to a judge and not worry about it.  I just know that the Cal Bears girls look pretty hot this year.

I’d like to start off this article by saying I have the utmost respect for women.  I also have a ton of respect for the WNBA.  There’s nothing wrong with having a league, getting sponsors, paying the players, trying to fill up seats, etc etc.  I just don’t understand why people go to actually watch the games.

Let’s face it people.  It’s just not fun.  I literally tried watching two minutes of a game over the weekend and I just couldn’t stomach it.  It’s like watching a middle school boys game.   The missed shots aren’t missed shots.  They are bricks.  There’s no dunking, and it’s just not fun to watch.

Why watch the WNBA when there’s Men’s college hoops and the NBA out there?  As such I’ve decided to come up with five sports that are more entertaining….

Curling

Have you guys seen curling?  It got some acclaim at the Winter Olympics.  It’s almost like shuffleboard but way more controlled and on ice.  I tell ya it’s damned boring but there’s something very soothing about it when you watch that big whatever they call it shoot across the ice and then the guys use those brushes to try and place it near the goal properly.

Darts

I mean how often do you watch a professional darts player?  It’s definitely more interesting than seeing an attempted dunk fail.  Or watching a successful dunk that actually sucks in the grand scheme of slam dunks.   I’d rather watch ten bulls eye’s in a row.  How often do you get to see that?

Skeet Shooting

Real life duck hunt vs.  WNBA?  I don’t even think it’s close.

Fishing

Fishing has got to be one of the worst sports to watch on TV.  It’s embarrassing to even say that it’s a sport but amazingly enough it is.  I mean I guess it’s cool to see big fish fishing but God it’s awful.  However, I’d rather watch a swordfish get reeled in than a crappy assist by Diana Taurasi.

Auto Racing

If you like watching cars go around and around 250 times for 2 hours then God bless.  However, car racing has got to be one of the most boring things to watch out there  However it’s got one thing that the WNBA doesn’t….accidents.   If I can see one car crash in that two hours than it’s better than watching women’s basketball.

Honestly I don’t think there’s too much going on over at ESU.    I mean can there be?  I have no idea.  But I’ll tell you this.  Recently getting a visit from the Eagles Cheerleaders probably gave them some life.  I can honestly tell you that I would never, ever go get autographs from anyone, not even the biggest celebrities.

I’m not the type that would ever show up at book signings and stuff like that.  But I can honestly tell you that if the Eagles Cheerleaders make an appearance within one hour’s driving distance from my house then I will have to show up.

After reading about how the French soccer coach is making his boys learn the National Anthem it made me wonder what other athletes out there actually know their national anthems.   I mean when you really think about it you just don’t know.  We learn it from the stands.  We kind of pick up the lyrics through the years.

But the only way to really know is looking at the sidelines to see if their mouthing the words.  Or another way to know is if these guys actually got up to the podium to sing the damn thing.

Given that the team is in Miami I think it’s kind of obvious that the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders would be among the elite cheerleading squads in our nation.  They’re probably out clubbing all night dancing and what not.  Staying in shape off the field as well as on.  Man would I love to go salsa dancing with this team.

I can’t believe how little I would fit in down there.  Eh, who cares?  Maybe they’d like a stay at home kind of guy like myself…or not.  Bottom line?  They are turning heads this pre season and I’m sure will continue to do so in the regular season.

Given Andy Roddick’s most recent loss at the U.S. Open it’s time he hears some kind (and not so kind words) from a fan.

Dear Andy,

I’ve been following your career for quite some time.  I remember when you were an up and comer with that mammoth serve.  You had a fearless way about you and your striking resemblance to Stiffler gave you this subtle bad ass quality that I’m sure the ladies loved.  You were the new kid on the block and when you broke through winning the U.S. Open there were high hopes for you.

But something happened along the way.  That thing was most likely two things.  Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.  I mean it’s not your fault that these two guys are two of the most gifted tennis player to ever play the game.  These things happen man.  It’s kind of like for those few seasons where Clyde Drexler was an unbelievable player but Michael Jordan was around so it didn’t matter.  No one even noticed.

You’re still a great tennis player and you have been for a while.   I give you credit for sticking it out and trying out coaches like Brad Gilbert and even Jimmy Connors (that couldn’t have been good).   Something, anything to bring your game to the next level.  But it’s just not there Andy.

And I remember being a fan and thinking you were kind of a dick.  That happens when players just don’t come through in the clutch.   And it sure as hell isn’t your fault.  These guys simply overmatched you.  But sometimes us fans become impatient.  Lord knows the lot of us were jealous as hell when you bagged Brooklyn Decker.  I mean how the hell did this guy deserve her?  He can’t even win a major?  But you got her Andy.  Good for you.

And then you took on Federer in that amazing Wimbledon match.  Everyone, including me thought you were “back” after that one.  You earned so much respect that day but unfortunately that day wasn’t yours.    But maybe that was the match that put you over the top Andy.  Perhaps that was the one that took it all out of you.  I want to make it clear Andrew that I do like you.  Having watched a ton of film I realize you’re a really funny dude (making fun of Serena was classic) and you seem like a lot of fun.

But when it comes to tennis, at least being one of the world’s best, I don’t think you have it.  Tennis is a great career but I’m kind of at a loss here.  Honestly I think you should retire and focus more on entertainment.  Like I said, you look like Seann William Scott so that’s helpful.  I don’t know man.

That’s all I got.

They call them the Top Cats.  Those would be the cheerleaders for the Carolina Panthers.  And may I just say that these women are simply splendid.  Considering that the Panthers just might not do so well this season at least we’ve got these delights to look at from the sidelines.

Honestly I don’t know Matt Leinart from a hole in the wall. But what I do know is that it seems he’s just not cut out for the NFL.   I mean the Raiders don’t even want to talk to the guy.  Now that’s bad.   Plus Leinert is making it abundantly clear that he wants to be a starter which he has absolutely no right to be.

Seriously he should just go back to his drinking and getting hot chick days.  It was way more entertaining and I’m guessing he can actually have a career at it.  Hell there’s plenty of opportunity out there.

As such I’ve chosen five careers that would be way better for Leinart….

Reality TV Star

Let’s face it.  College has never gotten out of Leinart’s system.  Hell it hasn’t gotten out of mine and probably never will.  I’m willing to bet anything that Leinart is just sitting at home thinking about a life that once was.  The guy just doesn’t have it for the NFL.  He doesn’t, period.  So why not go back to those roots and just hang around MTV for the next 15 years like the Road Rules people do.  He’d fit in perfectly.

Camp Counselor

The dude should definitely just tour around the country and be the cool older guy whose taking advantage of hot young chicks on teen tours.  I could easily see Leinert succeeding admirably here.

The Dude Who Gets Teenagers Beer

Every town has got one.  Leinart would be a perfect guy to do this.  I don’t know why but I could just see him walking into a convenience store and get hassled by young kids asking for beer.  He’d be the type to buy it too.

Professional Ringer

I only say this in a Sam Malone kind of a way.  Remember the episode in Cheers where he was hired at a financial firm just to be the ringer on their softball team?  Same could go for Leinert.  Guy could tour around from firm to firm helping win athletic championships and get paid for it.

CFL?

I had to put something kind of real in here.  Why not try and succeed as a quarterback somewhere else?  I would think a team or two might want to sign him.  Develop some confidence if you really want to be in the NFL because clearly somewhere along the way that confidence was shot after college

Who knew that cheerleaders show up to Alumni games?  And not even in the NHL no less.  But here they are, the lovely ladies of the Tulsa Oilers showing their support for a bunch of older dudes who want nothing more than to shred up the ice with these pretty faces.

I don’t think that sentence made much sense.  Whatever.  Little red head girl in the picture heard me.  And that’s all I really care about here.  Overall the team isn’t all that hot but I’m huge fan of that chick.  OK, that’s all I got.

I tell ya I haven’t been into pro wrestling in quite some time.   However when I was a kid I feel like the WWF was my whole life man.  It was such a big part of me.  I would always wrestle with my brother and pretend to be Superfly Snuka or the Macho Man.  Obviously the Hulkster was one of my favorites but I liked them all.
