Welcome to the NBA

A22 A23

I came across this photo of Bill Belichick in Little League this weekend and decided it was a must that we find some professional athletes when they were in Little League for this mornings post.

We’ll play a little game today: See if you can find Blake Griffin, Jason Heyward, Michelle Wie, David Wright & B.J. Upton, Kareem Abdul Jabbar,  Matt Stafford & Clayton Kershaw, and more. If you can identify these guys— good for you.

Click on photo to read more about the Pacers vs. Heat series

It’s the sexy thing to say these days, but I really think the Pacers will push the Heat to AT LEAST six games. The Pacers are a good team. Not sure the Heat have really been challenged so far so if the Pacers can come out and hit them in the jaw they have a shot. Heat will win though. Lock city

For those of you who didn’t see the news on Friday – Phil Jackson always has been hesitant to compare Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Until now. In his new book, co-written with Hugh Delehanty and entitled “Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success,” Jackson breaks down what separated Jordan from Bryant, the biggest stars and personalities that he coached during his Hall of Fame career. [ESPN]

Phil Jackson compared Kobe to Michael and, of course, within hours Kobe took to Twitter to defend his position. This lead me to think – how many times this offseason is Kobe going to try and defend himself against Phil’s book. Over/Under – 19.5. I’ll take the OVER.

This snowballed into a series of OVER/UNDERS from this past week in sports. Hit the jump to see them…

The Boston Marathon will be giving those runners who didn’t finish the race an opportunity to finish. Pretty cool move by the Marathon. Unfortunately, we cannot give lives back. Sorry to end the Friday on such a downer. Have a nice weekend folks.

I hope everyone has payed close attention to this message from our friends at South Park. Memes are not only hilarious, they’re dangerous as well…

Have you been wondering how Alton Lister coped after Shawn Kemp put him on a poster in 1992? Been curious about how DeAndre Jordan felt after obliterating Brandon Knight this season? Or ever wanted to see how a classmate, acquaintance or complete stranger might react to such an onslaught in a hallway? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions then “posterizing” may be the next meme for you. In the pioneering example below, two young men team up to “posterize” a third (who may be in on it or may just be really absorbed by whatever gadget he’s carrying). Bonus points have been awarded to both for the use of the waste basket as a hoop as well as the timing off the self alley-oop pass off the wall. [Continue Reading]

Click on photo to read more about the 2013 NBA Mock Draft

It’s actually an interesting draft this year. You’d be surprised how many names you’re probably not familiar with – it’s also a draft that poses high risk – high reward. If I had to guess I’d think this draft is going to shape up to be a dud.

A masterfully done fake tattoo job by whoever created baby birdman. Unfortunately, this is probably the last player you want your kid to emulate. Thanks to TerezOwens for the picture..

As for the Heat… Domination as usual. I think you can crown ‘em!

FBL-GER-BUNDESLIGA-BAYERN MUNICH-AUGSBURG

Tens of thousands of Bayern Munich fans lined the city streets on Saturday to celebrate their side’s 23rd German championship. Bayern Munich were finally handed the Bundesliga trophy they won over a month ago after their 3-0 win against Augsburg. And with that, the traditional beer showers began. [Continue Reading]

The inspiration of this article comes from Bayern’s beer-heavy celebration. It looks like the German-side had one helluva time on the pitch as did their fans on the streets. Today we celebrate with everyone.
