If there’s one team that people don’t really put into the championship conversation, it’s the San Antonio Spurs. To be honest, I’m not 100% sure why. I mean I get that the Thunder are electric. I see how good the Heat are. And technically these two teams should be better than the Spurs.
However, you can’t ever underestimate a Gregg Popovich coached team. You just can’t. Other than Phil Jackson he’s clearly the best coach in the NBA over the last 20 years. His teams are disciplined, playoff tested, and do all the little things right. Don’t be surprised if these guys come out on top.
If anything I want them to stick around because of their cheerleaders….
The rookie year photo…. It’s like an elementary school year book photo; it’s awesome, yet hilarious at the same time. Today, we’re highlighting athletes from their rookie year, my how they’ve grown.
As tempting as it will be to try and decipher if this athlete took steroids, I think it’s best just to enjoy the photo. Since I had to go there – If you don’t think Albert Pujols did steroids you’re crazy!

For a season shortened by a lockout, the Knicks’ felt like it lasted a lifetime. But the team’s mercurial campaign was finally taken off life support Wednesday, when Miami overpowered New York for a 106-94 win and a 4-1 series victory.
It was an inevitable ending for an ultimately flawed team. But since it came at the hands of LeBron James (29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists) and the Heat, few can be surprised. Miami’s Game 5 victory is further proof that it’s poised for an all-but-certain run to the NBA Finals thanks to a decimated conference. And while the Knicks’ struggles will be highlighted in the coming days, the Heat’s performance Wednesday likely would have taken down anyone in the East.
This series dramatically highlighted the difference between Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony. You can win with one, and create an illusion with the other. Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points last night, so he’s feeling OK about himself right? Well he shouldn’t be… He scored 35 points on 31 shots. 31 Shots. And while his shooting percentage wasn’t bad he did not make his team better the entire series. I’ll take Lebron James’ 29 points on 16 shots 8 rebounds and 7 assists any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Lebron’s the best player in the world so it’s not really fair to Carmelo Anthony, but I’m sickened over 3-15, 12-26, 7-23, 15-29, and 15-31 (How do you take 31 shots and go to the foul line twice?). Dude you’re a f$cking ball hog. Amar’e Stoudemire shot like 75% from the field (when he played). There has to be more of an even distribution – Lebron would recognize it, not ‘Melo.

The Big East is one of those conferences that is standing on the brink of extinction. Well, not extinction, but certainly irrelevancy. I don’t even the individual who takes over this job. They need to pull off a miracle to get the conference back on track.
