Kentucky holding onto the top spot for the third consecutive week. Admittedly, I haven’t been following the Wildcats that closely. I did however hear the experts gushing over the freshman big Anthony Davis.

You see, with Chris Webber, at least he had a really really good NBA career.  I mean at his peak the guy was putting up hall of fame numbers.   So one can look back at this moment in the life of Webber’s basketball career as merely a glitch.  And currently I think he does a pretty solid job as an NBA analyst.

I just feel bad for the guys who have had terrible moments like these and have never recovered.   I’m fully convinced that Adam Morrison could have at least been a half decent NBA player but his little wussy crying reaction on the court scarred him for life.

It’s moments like these that build character.  Or in some cases, break you.

Did anyone happen to catch this year’s senior bowl game?  Neither did I.  Apparently it’s kind of a big deal.   If I had to take a guess, significantly more significant than the Pro Bowl.   I mean here’s where some of the collegiate best can showcase for scouts before heading out to make their NFL dreams come true.

And my oh my who in the hell were the cheerleaders for this game?  At first I thought it was the Eagles Cheerleaders because of the outfits.  Then I thought because it took place in Alabama, maybe the Crimson Tide girls?  But then I realized they looked like pro cheerleaders and not college cheerleaders.

Honestly I have no clue who they are but they were spectacular.  Check out the pics after the jump…

What a weekend in the sports world, and I’m not saying that just because of the Super Bowl. There were all types of great sports on this weekend. It was a man’s dream.

Unfortunately, it’s Monday morning (yawn). Nothing but a long week staring you right in the face. It sucks. I’m not ready to surrender the memories of this weekend just yet.

Unathletic has put together the top 5 Epic Performances of the Weekend to get you through this morning…

5.) Missouri vs. Kansas

No. 4 Missouri rallies past No. 8 Kansas on Saturday night. Down 8, three minutes left… no problem, man. Big Ups to Marcus Denmon who scored 9 points in the final two minutes, while Mizzou went on an 11-0 run to win the game.

4.) Northern Iowa vs. Creighton

What a tremendous ending to this game! Have to give it to Northern Iowa, but Creighton helped the matter. This game was a sniff that we’re getting close to March Madness.

3.) Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Down 3-0 — no problem, man. Manchester United showed their class by leveling with Chelsea after falling behind 3 goals. Chelsea fans were completely disheartened. Epic performance, epic game.

2.) Aaron Rodgers wins MVP

Rodgers earned 48 votes to two for New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees in balloting by a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL. The Packers star is the first Green Bay player honored since Brett Favre concluded a run of three straight seasons as MVP in 1997. Have to give A-Rodg some love here for an epic win.

1.) New York Giants vs. New England Patriots

I’m having a hard time trying to put my finger on this game… It was good, but it wasn’t good. It had a couple nice moments, but for the most part it was pretty mundane. Congrats to the Giants. You can’t spell elite without ELI!

It’s still pretty early, but I think it’s safe to say the 76ers are going to be in the mix for the East. That’s not really saying much seeing it’s probably the weakest conference in the history of the game.

This happens to me all the time. I get an inspiration from something. In this case, I saw one of our “athletes” featured in today’s post and was like damn that guy is creeping looking. (Lightbulb) 5 Creepiest Athletes Out There Today.

Just for the record, I’m not sh$tting on anyone’s appearance, but if you have a creepy feel I’m going with ya..

5. Chris Kaman – LA Clippers

Kaman doesn’t help his cause with the hair….. and hunting photos of him gutting a deer carcass. The guy just has a creepy and horrifying feel to him.

4.) Djibril Cisse – Lazio

You want nightmares – Google pictures of this dude. No joke. Cisse does contribute to his creepiness, but natural or not he’ll make you wet the bed.

3.) Pau Gasol – LA Lakers

I could have gone a ton of different ways here – Joakim Noah, Charlie Villanueva… Nah – I’ll take Pau, the guy is creepy as sin.

2.) Frank Ribery – Bayern Munich

I have no qualms with giving Ribery a hard time. He’s done nothing to earn sympathy in his lifetime. With that said…. Damn.

1.) Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers

The creepiest hair cut in the history of sports, so I have to go with Big Ben here. This is just awful, and Ben is the creepiest mofo going.

Today, we curiously take a peak at some of the highest-paid athletes from 2011. It should come as no surprise to anyone to find the likes of Tiger Woods, Alex Rodriguez, Kobe Bryant, and Alex Rodriguez. Others were somewhat surprising…

Forbes magazine earnings totals were derived from salaries, bonuses, prize money, appearance fees, and licensing and endorsement income. The 50 highest paid athletes earned a combined $1.4 billion, or $28 million on average.

Take a look at some of the surprises…

Michael Schumacher – $34 M

I don’t know much about Formula 1 racing so this may not be a surprise to many. Schumacker finished 9th overall in the standings but is boosted by a quality endorsement portfolio. What is most surprising is his $34 million ironically puts him as the ninth highest earner.

Yao Ming – $27.7 M

I’m surprised, but not surprised to see Yao Ming here. Yao has played all but 5 games the past two seasons. Fortunately, he still has Reebok kicking his tires.

Vince Carter – $21.8 M

This baffles me. Vince managed to parlay his name into sizable contracts, and he still has a lucrative endorsement portfolio. When was the last time you saw Vince in an ad?

Rashard Lewis – $20.1 M

20 million for 11 points a game. Amazingly, Rashard Lewis managed to acquire a 6-year, $118 million contract, and is now pretty much worthless.

Barry Zito – $19.2 M

How can I forget about Barry Zito? How awful is it to have this guy on a list of the world’s highest-paid athletes? Zito received a check for $300,000 from the player’s pool after the Giants won the World Series. What a joke.
